Homegrown phenomenon Crate Man reappeared overnight in Flora Hill – its first sighting in almost a year.
The green cube referenced in an 11-minute parody of the popular cartoon show, which aired earlier this week, features in the Crate Man installation.
A stack of green milk crates rests just beyond Cratey’s reach.
Its arms are extended in the cube’s direction.
One of Crate Man’s builders said they were inspired by the Rick and Morty’s Bushworld Adventures episode.
He had no particular stance on the clip, but was amused Australian animator Michael Cusack had chosen Bendigo as the characters’ destination.
“It’s funny the thing came out,” they said.
Cusack had earlier said Bendigo ‘just felt right’.
Crate Man has been sighted in a number of poses throughout the years.
It made a brief appearance near the Bendigo Art Gallery in June 2017.
