The 19-year-old collapsed during a VFL practice match last Saturday and was rushed to hospital with an irregular heart beat.
"There was no contact or incident, he just hit the deck so that's always a worry," Magpies football manager Geoff Walsh said on the club’s website collingwoodfc.com.au
"Pleasingly that (irregular heartbeat) went back into rhythm of its own accord yesterday so that's part of the good news.
"Obviously we'll now have to investigate I suppose is it something that's been there for a while, how do we treat it going forward.”
The match was stopped for 40 minutes while an ambulance attended.
Kirby, who was picked by the Magpies with pick 50 in the 2016 national draft, was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.
The forward/midfielder made his senior debut against Melbourne in the final round of the 2017 season.
Before being drafted, Kirby booted nine goals in two cameo appearances for Richmond’s VFL side.
