The year of the Dragon as what had been the BDCA’s longest existing premiership drought finally ended.
There was plenty of hype heading into the season around the Dragons after their strong recruiting and they delivered, losing just one game on their way to their first premiership since 1979.
No player in the competition made more than Dragons’ opener Nayana Palamandadige’s 787 runs, which included three centuries, while he was also a joint runner-up in the Cricketer of the Year.

Leg-spinner Cameron Taylor finished as the season’s leading wicket-taker for the second year in a row with 39, while the club continues to dominate the under-18 competition, winning a third flag in a row.
The first XI flag may have eluded the Suns, but they claimed the Ian Phillips Memorial Club Championship, and were also the winners of the second Barry Ayres Spirit of Cricket Award.

Was a big season for Golden Square celebrating its centenary, but a premiership chance eluded it when it lost its semi-final to eventual premier Sandhurst by one run.
Still, the season was a big step back in the right direction for Square, which had been absent from the finals for the previous three years.
As well as the semi-final loss that went down to the last ball, a rain interruption cost Square in the one-day final against Bendigo.

Showed the importance of early victories when they won their first four games, while their season of improvement also included winning their first one-day shield.
Had the competition’s most dominant all-round player in recruit Kyle Humphrys, who won the Cricketer of the Year and also cracked three tons.

A premiership hangover for the Hawks, who became the first reigning premier since Strathfieldsaye in 2002 to miss the finals.
