The Dragons defeated Strathdale-Maristians by four wickets at the Queen Elizabeth Oval to win the club’s first flag in the first XI since 1979.
Rain on Saturday delayed the start of the game by 94 minutes, but by 5.23pm on Sunday the Dragons were 2017-18 premiers.
The Suns made 196 batting first, before the Dragons took 82.2 overs on Sunday to answer with 6-197.
The Taylor-Walsh Medal for the grand final’s best player was won by Sandhurst left-arm spinner Sam Sperling, who claimed 4-59 off 28 overs and took a catch.
Sandhurst captain Craig Howard made the game’s highest score of 60 not out.
