Leading Senior Constable Cary Towers from the Bendigo Police said no injuries had been caused in the incident.
“A Toyota four-wheel-drive was travelling along Don Street heading towards Eaglehawk Road,” the Leading Senior Constable said.
“Once the driver got to Barnard Street, the driver failed to stop at a red light and collided with a Kia Carnival which was travelling along Barnard Street.
“That has in turn pushed both vehicles into the centre traffic lights and knocked the light down.”
The CFA and police were required to direct traffic.
The driver of the Toyota will receive an infringement notice for failing to stop at a red light.
