Crew members and volunteers will be at Alexandra Fountain from 8am to 4pm on Saturday to rattle the tins and accept donations from the community.
Bendigo SES and public relations officer Bec Maskell said replacing the truck would cost almost $200,000.
“There are grants available but we are still about $140,000 out of pocket,” she said.
“We have been working on fundraising to replace the rescue truck for a couple of years.
“It is about 10 years old and we like to swap them out at that age because things start wearing out.”
Money raised will also be used to replace certain pieces of the SES crew’s equipment.
Maskell said all momey raised will go to the Bendigo SES.
“When you see the SES rattling tins, that money goes directly to that SES unit,” she said. “So any money we raise this weekend goes directly to the Bendigo SES.”
