A joint-captain in 2017, Cannan is entering her eighth season with the Champions IGGA Lady Braves.
She is coming off arguably her best season in the SEABL, averaging 4.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 25 games.
New coach Megan Moody said she was thrilled to have such a quality player and person back on-board.
“She not only provides another guard option and legitimate shooter while on the court, but Tahnee is also a fantastic team mate and a dedicated member of the Bendigo basketball community who gives plenty to time to the development of the next generation of females players in the Braves program” Moody said.
Outside of her commitment to the Lady Braves, Cannan has worked as an assistant coach with the Junior Braves under-16 girls team over the past two seasons, while also working closely with CBL head coach Nick Salm.
The pair only last month guided the CBL team to the North West title against Horsham.
Cannan is looking forward to the Lady Braves once again challenging for a SEABL title.
“Its great to be back for another Lady Braves season,” she said.
“With a nice mix of senior players that have years of experience - then add to that some of our younger players who have plenty of talent - I think we can once again be one of the top teams in the competition and hopefully be around the mark at the pointy end of the season” she said.
A fruitful pre-season for the Lady Braves has been highlighted by the signing of 12 players, including established WNBL stars Kelly Wilson, Gabe Richards, Nadeen Payne and Ash Karaitiana.
The full Lady Braves roster is Tahnee Cannan, Bianca Dufelmeier, Ahlise Hurst, Ash Karaitiana, Nadeen Payne, Jess Rennie, Gabe Richards, Madeline Sexton, Kara Tessari, Maddi Wild, Andrea Wilson, Kelly Wilson.
The Lady Braves begin their season on Friday April 6 at Diamond Valley.
After a round two bye, they will play their first home game of the season on Saturday April 21 at Bendigo Stadium against Hobart.
