EARLIER: A man has been charged after allegedly shooting at police in a confrontation at Axe Creek on Friday night.
The 50-year-old Axe Creek man appeared in Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on charges of reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, and common law assault.
It is alleged the man shot at police officers at an Axe Creek Road address about 11.30pm on February 9.
Police returned fire with a single shot and, as per standard procedure when a member discharges a firearm, the Professional Standards Command will investigate.
No one was injured during the incident.
