About 7.05am, a 1989 Holden Rodeo utility was set alight.
It had been parked for a few days on the south side of Ogilvie Avenue, opposite Sutton Street.
The car was engulfed in flames by the time CFA arrived and was destroyed.
There are reports a male was in the vicinity of the ute around the time it was set on fire.
Police ask anyone who might have seen anything to contact Detective Sergeant Murphy 5483 1500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
