The investigation into the incident is ongoing, but it is believed multiple people were travelling in the back of the ute when it hit a bump.
Three people were thrown from the vehicle, including the woman, who was then hit.
The driver has assisted police with their enquiries and no charges have been laid.
EARLIER: A woman has died in a single-vehicle crash on a private property at Torrumbarry, north-west of Echuca.
The call to emergency services was made shortly after 3.30pm Saturday.
Emergency services attended the scene on Bail Road, but the woman died from her injuries at the scene.
The woman is yet to be formally identified.
The male driver of the vehicle is assisting police with their enquiries.
The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined, but it was reported to emergency services that the woman was thrown under the vehicle after it ran into a ditch.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
