Bruce Hearn and the Machinists will perform Guthrie’s songs in a show that showcases and celebrates the power, humanity and social justice messages Guthrie’s music.
Guthrie – who often had the slogan “This Machine Kills Fascists” showing on his guitar – was an influence to a host of songwriters including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cash.
Dylan described Guthrie’s songs has having “the infinite sweep of humanity in them.”
Alongside Hearn at the Theatre Royal will be his handpicked band including Kavisha Mazella (guitar/mandolin), Chris Pascoe (accordion), Peter Beulke (double bass) and special guests performers Kerri Simpson and Mick Thomas.
