ALREADY dreaming of the next lot of school holidays?
We’ve got you covered.
The Kids Adventure Outdoors festival returns to Anglesea for its fourth year on April 7 and 8.
The event showcases a raft of outdoor recreational activities, camps and youth organisation programs in and around the coastal town.
Children between the ages of three and 13 can experience a range of active adventures including rides, runs, climbs and paddles.
Parents go free to the event, while a children’s all-day Saturday pass costs $90. A Sunday half-day pass is $50, which includes a barbecue grand finale.
Luckily, The Bendigo Advertiser has two family passes valued at $180 each to give away.
The passes are for Saturday, April 7 and include a choice of four activities for the day.
Simply fill out the form for your chance to enter.
Two random winners will be announced on March 9. Good luck!
Event spokeswoman and YMCA Recreation Camp manager Vicki Chrzanowski said the festival aimed to get children more active in the outdoors, often.
“This year kids will see new activities being added to the roster including a mini Commonwealth Games, hosted at the Anglesea Family Caravan Park; Rockpool Ramble on Saturday morning and Sunday morning; and a special grand finale closing ceremony on Sunday from noon, with a free sausage sizzle,’’ she said.
Other favourites at KAOS include surfing, camping, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, and stand up paddle-boarding.
“For those families yet to experience the joys of camping out under the stars, or who don’t have the equipment, or just want to get more experience camping before going it alone, this is the perfect opportunity,’’ Ms Chrzanowski said.
“KAOS is part of a worldwide movement to reconnect children with nature as parents start to recognise the huge positive and therapeutic benefits that come as a result being more active, specifically in an outdoors environment.”
The weekend program kicks off with Saturday showcasing a full day’s activities with sessions on from 9am to 4.30pm, while Sunday runs from 9am to noon.
