There is a record four sets of twins starting at the school this year as well as 61 prep students, their biggest enrolment ever.
Wendy Jackson acting principal at the school said she had never been at a school where there had been four sets of twins starting in the same year.
“It’s very unusual,” she laughed.
“When the preps first come into school we have activities in the classroom to help them transition.”
“In addition we also have a buddy system where a senior student is linked to one of the prep students, they spend quite a bit of time with them in the first week and then we encourage the preps to become more independent.”
The twins starting at Specimen Hill Primary School are Peter and Mitchell Waddington, Ryan and Charlotte Butterworth, Chase and Hunter Scinetti, and Sharlee and Skye Hurta.
