Mr Bice succeeds Leah Sertori at Bendigo’s peak business group, leaving his role as Bendigo Football-Netball League manager and AFLCV operations manager.
With an extensive background in business and finance during his time with Bendigo Bank, Mr Bice said he will focus on creating partnerships to help “value-add” for local businesses.
“There’s lots of opportunities, it’s an interesting time,” Mr Bice said on Thursday.
During his time with the BFNL, Mr Bice helped create a strategic plan for the league and improve the financial stability of its clubs.
Mr Bice hopes to use his expertise in strategy and partnerships for the benefit of Bendigo businesses.
“Clearly one of the things we need to create is value for our members, we need to be supportive of them,” he said.
When he begins the role on February 12, Mr Bice plans to work closely with the City of Greater Bendigo to track the progress of its smart cities bid.
Be.Bendigo chair Marika McMahon said: “We are confident Dennis Bice has the right depth of skills and experience to take Be.Bendigo and the business community forward.”
“Dennis has a wide network of contacts and is well known and respected in Bendigo, so he will be able to hit the ground running when he starts and is looking forward to meeting with Be.Bendigo partners and members.”
