Written by Bendigo’s Sarah-Jane Fawcett, the one-act show features a number of local performers who suffer from social anxiety or neurodiverse disorders such as ADHD or autism-spectrum disorders.
Jadyn Hoskin, who has a mild form of Asperger’s Syndrome, plays the title character Max Pry.
“This play is child friendly but aimed more at adults. There is a lot of ‘dad humour’ in it,” Hoskin said.
“Max Pry is a bit of an Agent Smart-type character. He is a real idiot. He is totally incompetent and quite selfish but one of the good guys in the show.
Max Pry: Private Eye is on at the Engine Room Theatre in View Street on January 19 and 20 at 7pm.
A performance at 2pm on January 20 will feature an Auslan interpreter for deaf people and minimised sound and lighting effects for people with sensory processing disorder.
