Victoria Country’s victorious 11-boys squad included the Bendigo quintet of Lachie Ross, Riley Kerr, Liam Yates, Ryan Kalms and Noah Rimmer.
The tournament featured one 44 degree day – the hottest in the event’s history – on Saturday, January 6.
Victoria Country qualified for its final by defeating Victoria Country 7-4 in their semi-final.
In the final against Queensland, Victoria Country was under pressure when it trailed 2-4.
However, the side fought back to equalise 4-4, before scoring the match-winning goal to secure a 5-4 victory and the national title.
Victoria Country’s most dominant performance of the championships was against Western Australia when it produced a 20-2 victory.
The winning Victoria Country team was coached by Ballarat’s Brett Bedgood.
