An unknown offender entered a Candlebark Court property via the adjoining state forest on December 27 or 28, stealing from the carport a 4.8-metre, half-cab white speed boat with a red canopy.
The boat’s registration, MY236, was printed along its side. Also taken was a Dunbier trailer with registration V85361.
Boyd Harris, the son of the boat’s owner, said today his family was left shocked by the theft. The family used the boat on holidays in Dromana, he said.
Also taken was decades-old fishing paraphernalia, hand-made lures and spinners crafted by Mr Harris’ great grandfather.
Mr Harris said a $500 cash was on offer for information that lead to the recovery of the the boat and the sentimental items.
Other identifying features included an unusually long draw bar on the trailer and the 70hp Johnson outboard motor.
