The six-year-old gelding outstayed his four rivals to win the $5000 Merton Cup (1900m) on New Year’s Day.
He was ridden by Bendigo jockey Craig Kirkpatrick, who has partnered the galloper in two of his three recent wins. The gelding was ridden by Jordan Turner, when he won at Kerang on Boxing Day.
His streak of wins began at Yea on December 10 in what marked Cole’s return to training after a severe bout of influenza A put him into an induced coma for two weeks and a months-long recovery.
Kinjulator has now won four of his 28 career starts.
Only 10 of those runs have been with Cole as trainer, with a further two coming under guidance of Aileen Vanderfeen, while the Bendigo trainer was sidelined.
Cole has previously made no secret of his liking for the stayer.
"He (Kinjulator) is probably my favourite horse. He's no world-beater, but he's a lovely horse,” he told the Advertiser.
