The annual New Year’s Eve parade will offer families a taste of old-fashioned fun before an outdoor cinema screening and a firework finale.
Daylesford New Year’s Eve gala organiser Catherine Davies said there have been incredible floats at the street parade over past years.
“One year a family built a bread oven on the back of the truck, baked bread and handed it out to people,” she said.
The gala kicks off on Vincent Street from 6pm with food trucks and family entertainment before the parade at 8pm.
The gala fun will be followed by an outdoor screening of The Dressmaker at 10pm at Victoria Park, part of the pop-up theatre run by volunteers at Daylesford Cinema.
Fireworks will end the evening and mark the New Year as they explode over Lake Daylesford. The firework display is funded by Biggin and Scott Daylesford and Lake House.
