Bendigo Health chief medical officer Dr Humsha Naidoo said that it’s a great initiative between MIPS and the junior medical staff.
“This is fantastic to be able to bring pleasure to sick kids in the children’s ward, it’s such a different environment for them,” Dr Naidoo said.
HMO Society vice president Dr Skye Kinder said they jumped on the opportunity to get involved and help cheer up sick kids that are in the hospital during Christmas.
“Being in hospital over Christmas is difficult enough, it’s a scary place and hopefully it’s a little bit easier with a teddy bear by your side,” Dr Kinder said.
The program is a collaboration between the Medical Indemnity Protection Society (MIPS) and junior doctors and medical staff at Bendigo Health.
