Dr Lauren Adorni-Braccesi said Santa always brings a smile to the children’s ward.
“It sucks to be in hospital at Christmas time,” she said.
“Santa Brightens everyone's day and it’s good to remind kids that he knows where they are, even if they’re in hospital.”
Santa said that seeing all the smiles on the children’s faces was fantastic.
“Absolutely amazing, what a pleasure it is to be here with children that are so sick,” Santa said.
“We can come in and put a smile on their faces and give them a little bit of hope that they will be home soon, hopefully for Christmas.”
Belinda Free is the mother of 7-year-old Tara who is currently in hospital for a broken elbow.
“It was so great, it put a smile on her face, it’s been fantastic for all the kids,” Belinda said.
Tara was excited to see Santa and thought it was “awesome” to see him come in and cheer up all the children.
