Having developed their sounds and playing intermittent gigs around the region for three years, Talisa Jobe and Aaron John will hit record at their gig.
It was a natural decision for them was to record a live album with their fans in Bendigo cheering them on and being a part of the experience.
"We tried some home recording without success, so we decided to get in the big guns," TJ said.
"This is our first ever recording. We wanted to do it this way because we couldn't capture what we do on stage (when recoridng at home).
"Kevin at the Golden Vine has been really supportive and, thankfully, we know a lot of people with gear that can help us."
TJ had already established herself as a strong solo acoustic performer but decided to re-develop her sound when she started playing with Aaron.
Of note on TJ’s resume is being the first performer on the debut Bendigo Blues tram and a regular at the Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival.
Aaron is an accomplished passionate drummer who has taught drums in Bendigo and played for multiple bands in past years.
"Touring and playing by yourself can be pretty lonely, so it's good to have someone alongside me," she said.
"We met when Aaron was working at Basement Bar and through the usual music channels.
"After we became good friends, we tried playing together and it fit really well.
"In the last two years we haven’t done heaps of gigs but we have our own sort of tempo that can fluctuate a bit, which is why it's exciting to record it live."
TJ&Son play blues-rock songs but are inspired by everyone from Led Zepplin to Mia Dyson.
"It's more of an older rock style. It took a little while to get used to for me," TJ said.
"We used some of my old songs and changed them around and we are very confident with what we have."
TJ said she expected the recording to mastered and mixed pretty quickly with the album set to be available early next year.
She hopes to get as many people as possible to the Vine for the night.
"I think have a crowd there will inspire us to play the best we can. We would just lkvoe everyone to come along and have a good night," she said.
TJ&Son will record live at the Golden Vine from 10pm on Friday, December 8.
Entry is $5 with doors open from 8pm. Support acts include Liam Thorpe, Sparrow and Cash.
