Shane Fliedner continued his great spring form when Inaminute made it two wins in a row in the penultimate race of the day before popular trainer Bob Donat landed the prize in the last event with bold frontrunner Catechesis.

Catechesis’ all-the-way win was a timely boost for the Donat family.

Bob’s wife Bronwyn is battling breast cancer.

“She (Bronwyn) will be bouncing around at home after that win,’’ a beaming Donat said.

“I miss not having her down there (at the stables) doing little jobs for me.

“She’s not a horsey person, but she does a great job.”

Apprentice jockey Rebeka Prest took off on Catechesis from the start of the 1400m event and the duo never looked like being beaten.

The winning margin was more than four lengths and Donat now plans to run Catechesis in the Wodonga Cup.

Inaminute won in similar style from the front to give Fliedner his sixth winner in the past month.

“The horse has a good turn of foot, but he needs to learn how to relax,’’ Fliedner said.

“It’s tough for a horse to come off a maiden win and back up in a (benchmark) 64, so he’s done a good job.”

Fliedner has trimmed his horse numbers to 22 and it’s working well for the stable.

“The team is going terrific… maybe Coliban Water has changed what’s in the water,’’ Fliender said.
