The Academy FC has provided specialised coaching to individual players of all ages from across the region for the past five years.
The program is now extending from part-time to a full-time basis.
“It’s very exciting to see an Academy like this in regional Victoria, where the game is growing and the talent being produced is increasing,’’ The Academy FC head coach Nathan Claridge said.
“It won’t be long before we see our first A-League player from the region.
“The Academy FC sees its role as complimentary to club based soccer in Bendigo, including the elite pathway of NPL club Bendigo City FC.
“The Academy FC achieves this through the provision of focused technical coaching to the individual player, which is difficult for team/club coaches to deliver in a team setting.”
Claridge, who played state league soccer in Melbourne and in the USA before a serious knee injury ended his career, is a Football Federation Australia and Football Federation Victoria licensed coach.
“The Academy FC has already seen incredible results with its young players bursting into NPL ranks, bypassing others at similar standards,’’ Claridge said.
“Independent player reviews have also highlighted the dramatic improvement of players who have undertaken this specialised coaching.”
Places in The Academy FC program are available to players from across Victoria.
