The performance data showed 91 per cent of Bendigo line services arrived at their destination on time last month, one of the V/Line networks’ better performing routes.
Chief operating officer Carol-Anne Nelson said the results meant a five percentage point jump in on-time performance from August.
“We introduced a new timetable at the end of August, which has bedded down really well and that’s come through in the latest performance figures, particularly for the Bendigo line which is great," Ms Nelson said.
In total, 231 weekly services have been added to the V/Line network this year.
Services across Victoria were, on average, less punctual, with just 87.1 per cent arriving on time. That was still the highest result since last October.
“We have seen improvements in on-time running each month since May and this is something we want to continue,” Ms Nelson said.
“There is a lot of work going on to improve performance across the network and I’m really pleased we are heading in the right direction.”
