Heading the Barbara kennel runners is exciting youngster Pistol Nite who has drawn box eight in race 11.
A winner of four of his five race track appearances to date, including a sizzling 22.36 Geelong victory on August 25, Pistol Nite looks to have a bright future and the Bendigo 425m looks ideal for him to further build on his impressive record.
The first of Barbara’s runners lines up in the opening event and after and unlucky second on debut at Ballarat, Sweet Ambush will be looking to finish one position better despite drawing awkwardly in box five.
While there is a couple of nicely bred debutantes among the opposition, Sweet Ambush will benefit from the race experience and be hard to beat.
The best bet on the card comes up in the Railway Station Hotel event, which is race five, in the form of Rido’s Ace.
Despite not winning at Bendigo in five attempts, Rido’s Ace is well placed in this field and if he can get even close to repeating his recent 23.83 Warragul win he will salute.
Two runs back he posted 24.26 when finishing third at the track and no doubt he can go faster with a clear run.
