Toma won the John Jones Memorial Trophy as the club’s senior best and fairest winner, while Gilbert claimed the A-grade netball best and fairest award.

Toma polled 140 votes, to finish clear of 2016 best and fairest winner Jack Geary (111), with Joe Coe close by in third on 107.

Adam and Travis Baird were equal fourth on 96.

Coe was the winner of the coaches award, while Will Lee was the winner of the rising star award.

Leading goalkicker for the season was Travis Baird.

Toma’s win capped a stellar season in which the inter-league representative finished equal third in this season’s Michelsen Medal count behind Strathfieldsaye’s winner Lachlan Sharp and Bulldogs teammate Geary.

It was Toma’s second senior best and fairest award win following the midfielder’s triumph in 2015.

Meanwhile, Gilbert topped the A-grade netball best and fairest count for the second straight season ahead of star goal shooter Gabe Richards.

Lia Marrone and Clayton Anderson were both awarded life membership after reaching 200 games for the Bulldogs during the 2017 season.

It was a memorable season for Marrone, who also received BFNL life membership for playing 300 league games.
