Emergency services were called to the Derwent Drive address at 11.55pm on Sunday and found the house well alight.
The house was occupied, but nobody was home at the time.
Bendigo CFA senior station officer John Lane said the fire was burning intensely, but it took firefighters about 20 minutes to bring it under control.
Three trucks and about 15 firefighters attended.
The house remains under police guard on Monday morning, with an arson chemist to attend to determine the cause of the blaze.
Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit is investigating.
Darren Auditori Reid died following a fire at that same address last December.
Kate Stone, who lived at the home at that time, has been charged with murder.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
