School Holiday Programs
During the holidays, children can enjoy a kaleidoscope of art-making workshops inspired by the forthcoming exhibition, The Costume Designer: Edith Head and Hollywood.
Children aged 4-7 can explore the colour blue and make some colourful spring kites to fly.
Older children will learn about the role of the costume designer in Hollywood and try their hand at creating their own fashion illustrations.
Kids will be encouraged to tap into their creativity and express their individuality!
- Bookings essential.
- Children seven years and under must be accompanied by a parent.
Gallery Giggles
Parents, carers and little ones are invited to come for a mini session of stories, songs and a taste of art for children aged up to 5 years.
Grown-ups do need to stay and enjoy the fun! Our next sessions will be on November 2 and December 7.
- Free. Held on the first Friday of the month during school terms.
- Bookings essential.
Stroller Tours
An education officer provides a private tour of the Gallery prior to opening hours for parents with young babies.
Adults can view selected artworks and discuss the meaning and making of art and the lives of artists. No art knowledge is required.
The tour will end in the Gallery Café, and includes a tea/coffee.
- Bookings essential. Crying babies welcome.

Halloween Family Fun Day
Families are invited to dress up ‘dark and dangerous’ and fly into the Gallery for two hours of spellbinding fun.
Kids can construct gruesome eyeball necklaces, spooky bat kites and join in broomstick races!
- $5 per family. Bookings essential.
- Sunday October 29
- 11am – 1pm.
The Gallery’s ongoing self-tours for families are always available.
