Sergeant Geoff Annand from Bendigo Highway Patrol said about 2pm, the 25-year-old from Echuca was travelling north on Station Street when he collided with a sedan turning right into the street from Glenwill Drive.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and sustained multiple serious injuries.
He was taken to Bendigo Health before he was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Sergeant Annand said police had interviewed the driver of the car, an 18-year-old Epsom man, and several witnesses.
He said investigations into the circumstances of the crash were continuing, but it had been indicated that the motorcyclist was travelling above the speed limit.
It is not believed drugs or alcohol were factors.
