The master plan for the redevelopment of the former Kyneton Primary School site is one step closer, with the appointment of project consultants Ethos Urban.
The plan will explore options for future community or mixed uses of the Baynton Street site.
“We are very keen to develop a master plan that focuses on community-driven options that will meet the needs of current and future generations,” Macedon Ranges Shire mayor Jennifer Anderson said.
“There is great potential to cater for any number of community activities and this process provides an opportunity to take a close look at the many ideas out there about possible ways to use this historic site.”
The project will include an extensive consultation program and analysis of options, including the economic viability of ideas and planning controls that are compatible with surrounding land uses.
The community consultation period will begin in the coming weeks and all feedback will be used to inform a draft master plan that will be presented to the council later this year.
It is planned that the draft master plan will be released for community comment in early 2018.
