Firefighters were called to the scene behind the Eaglehawk tip about 7.10am. When they arrived, they found flames coming from the front half of a Ford dual-cab utility.
Detective Acting Sergeant Debbie Graham said the vehicle was stolen during the night from a residential property in Kangaroo Flat.
Four Country Fire Authority trucks responded, with two from Eaglehawk and two from Bendigo providing support. Police also attended.
Eaglehawk Fire Brigade captain Hayden Allen said it took firefighters 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
