UPDATE, 8pm: The SES is urging people to not leave their house unless they have to as rain continues to fall on the Bendigo region.
SES media officer Bec Maskell said more than half a dozen jobs had been called in during the last hour.
“We have incidents scattered all over Bendigo from Junortoun to Kangaroo Flat and through Bendigo,” she said.
“Most of the incidents are related to the weather because of a big dumping of rain and trees down in the area.”
One of the major accidents was in Junortoun where a falling tree caused a car crash near Popes Road.
“No one was trapped or injured and crews are working to clear that road,” Ms Maskell said.
“Crusoe Road is also partly blocked with a tree down.”
Ms Maskell said anyone driving in the area should slow down and take care.
“Back off your speed so you have more time to react to debris,” she said.
“Drive to the conditions and if you don’t need to go out, then don’t go out.”
EARLIER: There are reports of multiple trees down as severe weather sets in across some parts of central Victoria.
Emergency services are responding to reports of trees down at Kangaroo Flat, Big Hill, Strathfieldsaye, St Arnaud East, Lockwood, Inglewood, Wedderburn, Arnold, Charlton, Carisbrook, Marong, Eaglehawk and Mia Mia.
There are reports of localised flooding in Eaglehawk.
Hailstorms have also struck in some parts of the region.
The Bureau of Meterology has warned farmers of the risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to the conditions.
A warning issued at 3.45pm on Monday, reads:
Sheep graziers are warned that low temperatures, showers and northwesterly winds are expected during Monday and Tuesday. Areas likely to be affected include the Wimmera, North Central, South West and Central forecast districts and parts of the Mallee, Northern Country, North East and West and South Gippsland forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
