Dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits and guinea pigs at the organisation’s Bendigo and Castlemaine animals shelters will be available for adoption for a significantly reduced price next weekend.
RSPCA Victoria chief executive officer Liz Walker said the animal welfare organisation wanted to encourage anyone interested in a new pet to consider adoption.
“We would love to see all of our animals adopted this weekend because pets belong in a home, not a shelter,” she said.
“We’re hoping the reduced fees will encourage those considering a new addition to their family to take the next step.”
From July 21 to July 23, the adoption fees will be:
- Dogs (four months+) $50
- Puppies $100
- Cats (four months+) $30
- Kittens $50
- Rabbits & Guinea Pigs: $30
- Mature cats and dogs (10 years+) No Fee
