Department store chain Harris Scarfe is expected to open a new store in Bendigo in late August, creating more than 10 local jobs.

The store, which will be located in the Rocklea Homemaker Centre, Kangaroo Flat, will occupy the space formerly used by Howards Storage World Bendigo.
The Adelaide-based retailer has 55 stores across the metro and regional areas of South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, ACT & Queensland and employs around 2000 staff nationally.
The company, which specialises in homewares, Manchester and clothing, signed an agreement with UK retailer Debenhams in 2015 to open stand-alone stores and stock its designer clothing range.
