The trio were stopped by police travelling in an allegedly stolen Nissan four-wheel-drive.

They are expected to be interviewed by detectives in relation to a number of burglaries and thefts on Monday morning.

MONDAY EVENING: Police have arrested two men in Macedon after the pair evaded officers for a number of hours this evening.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the two men were taken into custody after allegedly fleeing from a stolen vehicle in Centre Road.

“The two men fled into the bush and police searched for nearly three-quarters of an hour using the canine unit,” she said.

The men were believed to be in a Nissan four-wheel-drive which first came to the attention of police near Echuca earlier in the evening.
