Innes Motors was recognised as a 90-year member of the VACC on Friday.
“It’s very exciting. This is a family business that has been going 90 years,” Stewart Innes said.
Stewart Innes’s grandfather started the business before handing it down to his sons Les and Arthur.
Stewart and his wife Marilyn then took it over before their son Scott began managing it.
“There wouldn’t be a lot of businesses that are fourth generation,” Stewart said.
“There’s not really a secret to it. You just need the ability to be able to get on with people and most importantly, have good people around you. That’s been the case for us.”
