The weekend will feature the Cats playing a Sunday game against Leitchville-Gunbower at home, which will be followed by a function at the Lockington Community Centre.
The Lockington clubrooms will also be open on Saturday for a get-together.
“It’s going to be a really big weekend for the club. There’s going to be a lot of people coming to the club who haven’t been back for quite a while, so that’s exciting,” Cats president Colin Bacon said.
The history of football in the Lockington region, which can be traced to 1917, is filled with name changes and league switches.
“When you look into our history we’ve had five name changes and played in more than 10 leagues in 100 years,” Bacon said.
The club has had the name Lockington-Bamawm United since 1990.
As part of the weekend’s celebrations, the club will be auctioning off 65 commemorative guernseys.
The guernseys feature gold trimming, the 100 year reunion logo and a list of the club’s 21 premiership years – the first in 1932, the most recent in 2014.
On-field, the Cats face a massive challenge against the Bombers.
While they have been more competitive than their record suggests, the Cats are winless approaching the halfway mark of the season, while the Bombers are in second position at 6-1.
Round nine – North Bendigo v Elmore, Huntly v Heathcote, White Hills v Mount Pleasant, LBU v Leitchville (Sunday).
