Bendigo Youth Choir will head to Carnegie Hall in New York after reaching its fundraising target.
The singers were invited to perform at the Distinguished Concerts International New York series in June but needed to raise $90,000 to send 15 members of the choir and chaperones to the event.
Equity Trustees committed the final $6000 after moving into the region recently.
“We heard about the kids and their families working towards raising $45,000,” Equity Trustees managing director Mick O’Brien said. “They were so close to their goal. It just seemed like a great thing to do.”
The choir’s artistic director Valerie Broad said she was thrilled to reach the fundraising target.
“We decided early that all families would contribute, and to ease the financial load, the choir would endeavour to raise a minimum of $45,000 from the community and businesses in the region,” Ms Broad said.
“We know this is a significant cost for families to support their children. It will be a life changing experience for all of them.”
