Demons’ coach Brent Millar says news that Lehane had hurt his knee against Central Murray sent a major scare through the club given Lehane had only returned this year from a season-and-a-half out following a knee reconstruction.
“Structurally Matt’s knee is fine. There’s a possible slight strain of the PCL, which means he’ll miss one to two weeks, and that’s purely just precautionary,” Millar said on Wednesday.
“A lot of people have said we must be fairly filthy that he got injured playing inter-league, but that’s not the case at all.
“I’m a massive advocate of inter-league and always want my players playing the best footy they can. You run the risk of your players getting injured any time they run out onto a field.”
