Recruitment officer and Second Lieutenant Alistair Baird said the CFA brigade was particularly looking for volunteers for firefighting roles.
“We’re hoping to get somewhere between five and 10 new members out of the recruitment drive,” he said.
The information session will cover what volunteers can except to do within the brigade and what is required of them.
For the first time, the brigade is also calling for members aged 16 and 17 years old, but they must bring a parent or guardian along to the session.
Mr Baird said the CFA offered something different for those wanting to take part in community activities like sports.
“You’re part of a family with the CFA,” he said. “You get to get out and help in the community.”
The information evening will be held at the Golden Square Fire Brigade in High Street on Wednesday, April 26, from 7pm.
