The unit has about 40 volunteers and is seeking both operational and operational support members, deputy controller Natalie Stanway said.
She said some of the tasks volunteers could do is get out on the trucks and attend jobs, or behind-the-scenes roles like helping to deliver safety messages to schools and groups.
An information session will be held on April 4 from 7pm to 8.30pm at the Bendigo SES Local Headquarters at 64 Adam Street, Golden Square.
Ms Stanway encouraged people to come along to learn more about what the SES does and about becoming a volunteer.
Volunteers need to be aged at least 18 years old and people can register thier interest by visiting www.ses.vic.gov.au/volunteer/become-a-volunteer
More details about the information session and the unit can be found on the Bendigo SES Facebook page.
