Athletes raced 5000m or 3000m at the Latrobe University Bendigo athletics complex in Flora Hill.
Racing on invitational basis, Van Rees achieved a time of 17:27 as he won the 5000m event ahead of University’s Mike Bieleny, 17:37, and Andrew Creer, 17.41.
Bendigo Harriers’ rising star Matilda Moore continued her fine season by being fastest female in 19:22.
Series sponsor Adam Parker won the 3000m run in 9:55 from University’s Craig Green, 10:26, who plays a key off-track role as Athletics Bendigo Region’s general manager.
Distance for next Tuesdays run is 3000m.
Racing starts at 7pm at LUBAC in Retreat Road.
