Tobias was outside with his mother when his foot became stuck in a small drain opening.
The worried mother called emergency services, with CFA and SES crews working to free the boy.
CFA station officer Ashley Baker said the crews made a small break in the drain opening, allowing them to free Tobias without injury.
Tobias stayed calm and collected throughout the rescue.
“He was playing on his iPad when we turned up. He was as happy as Larry,” Mr Baker said.
The drain did not fair so well.
“It’s an older sewer put from years ago. The mum will have to get it repaired,” Mr Baker said.
