Planning application documents were recently tendered to the City of Greater Bendigo on behalf of My Chemist via a third party.
My Chemist, My Beauty Spot and Chemist Warehouse brands are all part of the multi-million dollar Chemist Warehouse group.
The application includes a 2000m2 extension of the existing shopping precinct that, if approved, will have a number of retail spaces, a car wash, a gym, a cafe and a laundromat.
Alterations to the existing Woolworth’s petrol station have also been proposed in the planning application documents.
Construction of three new buildings and a car wash would begin in 2017-18, the application proposes.
And the final building housing retail premises and a cafe would begin in 2019.
According to its website My Chemist has over 40 stores in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and Western Australia, however it currently has no shops in Bendigo.
Chemist Warehouse has a store in Bendigo’s CBD and in the Epsom Village shopping centre.
The Epsom Village shopping centre is located on the corner of Howard Street and the Midland Highway, Epsom.
The Chemist Warehouse group has been contacted for comment.
More to come.
