Industry Leaders focuses on individuals and groups that are passionate about their industry and have had success through their hard work.

Series producer James Donovan said the tramways were picked after producers saw Bendigo Heritage Attractions had been recognised at recent tourism awards.

“We wanted to create a (short) documentary to tell their story because after looking into them and seeing the history behind (the tramways), we thought it was a fantastic story for a tourism episode,” he said.

While filming took place, workshop staff were working on two older-model trams and converting another into a restaurant cart.

“We will definitely look at the trams in Melbourne a lot differently,” Mr Donovan said.

“As well as the workshop we got to hear about the tours on offer from the conductors in their historical outfits.”

Industry Leaders will screen on Foxtel’s Aurora (channel 173) in late April.
