Passengers were enjoying Bendigo’s first Blues Tram of the year well before it pulled out of the station.
Central Victorian musician and songwriter William Alexander serenaded them with his folk tunes as they took their seats and prepared to depart from Central Deborah Goldmine.
About 30 people embarked on the two-and-a-quarter-hour event on Saturday afternoon.
A duo from Chicago blues band Catfish Voodoo followed Alexander’s performance.
Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival director Colin Thompson said band members Julian James, on vocals and guitar, and Aaron Gillett, on harmonica, got the party started.
The artists ventured up and down the tram, encouraging people to get involved to such an extent that they found themselves singing into the microphone.
“It was the perfect way to start the year for the Blues Tram,” Mr Thompson said.
The next Blues Tram is in March.
