The theft occurred at Woolworths in Golden Square about 9.15am on Wednesday.
Police believe the man pictured might be able to assist with their inquiries.
Persons with information have been asked to call First Constable Matthew Schubert at the Bendigo Police Station on 5448 1300, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
