Fitzpatrick – who before last week hadn’t taken more than four wickets in a first XI match – had a day out against Eaglehawk in bagging 8-29.
His performance was the 11th time a first XI player has taken at least eight wickets in a BDCA innings since the turn of the century in 2000.
The BDCA’s best bowling figures this century are owned by Sandhurst captain Craig Howard’s 9-60 against Strathdale last month.
