BENDIGO Theatre Company’s production of The Addams Family has four nominations for the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria’s annual Bruce Awards for Excellence.
The Bruce Awards recognise the efforts of non-professional music theatre productions in Victoria.
Jason McMurray who starred as Gomez Addams has been nominated for the Harold Burrows Award for best male performer in a leading role.
Amy McMillan played Wednesday Addams and has been nominated for the best female performer in a supporting role.
The production was also recognised for its technical efforts with Ian Scott nominated for best lighting and Calum McClure nominated for best sound.
Commendations also went Joshua Geddes for musical direction, Charlie Munday for his supporting role as Wednesday’s love interest Lucas Bieneke and Alicia Barker for her supporting role as Lucas’ mother Alice Bieneke.
The musical follows Wednesday Addams who has grown up and found love with “normal” boy Lucas.
Awards will be announced on December 10 at the Frankston Arts Centre.
